Sedona’s Energy: A Journey, Perfectly Timed
Sedona had been on the list for a long time. Since the start of our journey, Katie and I had talked about getting there. We even booked RV parks a few times, thinking, “This is it. We’re finally going!” But life, in all its unpredictable ways, kept throwing curveballs. Plans shifted, projects demanded our attention, and Sedona would quietly slip back into the “someday” category.
When we finally made it this summer, it felt like more than just a destination. It felt like Sedona had been waiting for us—and now I understand why.
The Long Road to Sedona
There’s something funny about timing. When you’re in the middle of waiting, it feels like the universe is conspiring against you. But once you’re on the other side, you see the wisdom in the delay.
Katie and I had just finished a massive professional undertaking—one that stretched us to our limits mentally and emotionally. At the same time, we were standing at the edge of a new adventure, one that pushed us out of our comfort zones into something entirely unfamiliar. To say we were both in a state of transition would be an understatement.
When we finally rolled into Sedona this summer, it felt less like a destination we’d chosen and more like one that had chosen us.
Timing Really Is Everything
It wasn’t until I was standing beneath Sedona’s towering red rocks that I understood how perfect the timing really was. If we’d made it here earlier, when we first tried to visit, I doubt I would have been ready to receive what Sedona had to offer.
This time, we weren’t just passing through. We were present, fully open to the experience and the lessons it had in store.
A Walk of Healing and Peace
One of the most memorable moments of our trip was visiting Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park. Walking the winding paths of the medicine wheel, surrounded by prayer flags and the quiet energy of the space, was a profound experience. The act of circling the wheel felt meditative—each step grounding me, each turn inviting me to let go of what no longer served me.
Later, we spent time with a local guide who led us through a session of deep introspection. It wasn’t flashy or dramatic, but it cracked something open in both of us. We explored the emotions we’d been carrying—anxiety, fear of the unknown, and the lingering exhaustion from all we’d accomplished. Her words and presence felt like a mirror, reflecting back the truths we’d been too busy to see for ourselves.
By the time we left the park, something had shifted. There was a sense of peace between us and within us—a clarity that had been missing for months.
A Summer of Transformation
Before Sedona, we were both wrapping up one chapter and nervously stepping into another. I think that’s why the timing felt so significant. It came at a moment when we were ready—not just to visit, but to absorb the energy and healing Sedona had to offer.
Sedona didn’t just help us slow down; it gave us space to breathe. It reminded us that the journey is as important as the destination, and that every delay, every detour, happens for a reason.
Lessons from Sedona
Our trip to Sedona taught me that timing really is everything. Sometimes, the plans that fall through are actually blessings in disguise. If we’d come here earlier, we might have missed the magic waiting for us this summer.
And that’s the beauty of this journey Katie and I are on. It’s not about ticking destinations off a list—it’s about trusting the process, embracing the unexpected, and being open to the lessons waiting around every corner.
As we left Sedona, I felt a deep sense of gratitude—not just for the place, but for the timing that brought us there. It wasn’t just a stop on our map. It was a reminder that every step of the journey, no matter how delayed or uncertain, happens exactly when it’s meant to.
Here’s to trusting the timing, staying present, and continuing to go brazenly forward.
